This is a story about a young pregnant girl; mistreated physically and emotionally by her alcoholic boyfriend who she dearly loves regardless of his meanness at times. She stopped at a store as he wanted a chocolate bar and there he proceeded to execute the 19 year old store clerk by shooting him 7 times in the head. She was unaware that her boyfriend even owned a gun let alone kills an innocent person. She was going out of her mind, but couldn't go to the police because he threatened to kill every member of her family if she did. I don't want to give away any spoilers but the poor girl was charged with the murder. You'll have to read how she was not only victimized by her boyfriend, but also persecuted and humiliated to indignity all for being at the wrong place and at the wrong time. The story is heart-breaking, transfixing, tense, and riveting. But, because of her support system including; her mother, her boyfriend's mother and a magnificent councilor, there is a happy ending. 5 Stars for sure; well written and utterly entrancing.
Outrageous Shocking truth By Janice Rawlins
This book was very Shocking meaning that it is a well written story of truth. A young man who seemed to outwit everyone around him even after his death. A young couple who was so in love or sometimes I wonder if he knew what love really meant. A troubled young man who had two personalities which would change in an instant.
A young girl who loved him so much, but yet was afraid of him because after the murder she never knew what he would do next. This book moved me with pity and sadness for the young girl who was so fearful of her own life and her family's life, that she was in an emotional wreck.
Her own self worth was being questioned.
She endured so much in such a short time it nearly drove her insane.
I felt compassion for her in the book after reading it. This is a very powerful, outrageous, shocking truth how a person's life can be normal one day, and then all of a sudden it is turned into a living nightmare.
A nightmare everyday to overcome and try to become the person she once was before she wittnessed a murder."
A page turner...it kept me reading till the end. This book will not disappoint you!

Within one moment many lives are affected in this tragic true crime story. A brutal senseless killing of a young man working a convenient store at night. The story gives you a first person perspective of being what the girlfriend of the shooter went through.
The writing style is done in a journal like sense giving you insight of the fear she went through, the fear of her life and the unborn child she was carrying, and the anger she felt for the for the father of that baby for putting them in the situation they were in.
Also included is some of the write ups form the local paper giving the scoop on how the local population viewed the case. The author gives a uninterrupted time line of what she went through from watching the young man die and his last moments of life, her struggle to escape from the monster she at one time thought was going to be part of a her happy family.
Then after the law finally starts looking at them as a person of interest and she go to them for help she finds herself a victim again of the justice system trying to use her to close the case.
A dark, and interesting look into being a victim of abuse and fear, she has found her way to better time and I hope others who read this will realize what situations you can find yourself in if you are not careful.
A True Crime book i'm glad to have in my library and will have me thinking about it for a while.
